Theo Paphitis, a former owner of La Senza, is planning to snap up La Senza stores for his own brand Boux Avenue, following the collapse of the lingerie business, reported Retail Week,.
Paphitis, who also owns stationery retailer Ryman and hardware chain Robert Dyas, bought La Senza in and turned its fortunes around, before selling it to a private equity firm Lion Capital in for million pounds. Paphitis said he would be interested in taking on stores in locations where Boux Avenue is looking for a presence, reported Retail Week.
This year the Middle Eastern retail group had been looking to sell the business but it seems there were very few interested buyers. By this time the group was under the ownership of Marnixheath, employing people in the UK.
The retailer had 55 stores when it went into administration again in July, and 30 have already closed. The remaining stores will close over the next few weeks, according to the Financial Times.
