The first one would be that the ice cubes take a LONG time to freeze. My second would be that it makes really small amounts. For example, ions can of coke fills half the cup. If your not a big sugar person I guess this wouldn't be a problem but for those of you like me who love slushies it's a little disappointing. It's simple freeze the cubes, add the liquid, cap it, shake it. My youngest son had a hard time when we first bought it for his 6th birthday.
He is now 8 and has gotten much better. It dose require lots of effort, but the end result is worth it. My only complaint is that it only had 1 set of cubes, sometimes he would want another fresh fruit slushie before the cubes were ready. It makes a good slushy. But the drink has to be very cold to get a good slush. I have no idea why people complain about this so much, it turned out perfect the first time! I hand washed everything, and followed the instructions.
Only thing I would change is leaving the cubes in the freezer longer. I would suggest even leaving it in there overnight if you can. When frozen, put cubes in and pour in drink. Pouring colder drinks works even better , cover your finger tightly over the hole at the top of the cup and shake for minutes.
If better put it back in the freezer for a couple of minutes. Also, if you pour soda into the cup, make sure you uncover your finger from the hole now and then while shaking to avoid big messes. The whole thing was a blast to have fun with, and you can almost put any favorite in it, I don't know about alcoholic beverages, but I think I'll try it soon, it's worth a shot. Saw these and had to get it for my kids who LOVE slushies. If you use room temperature soda it will not work. Other than those two rules which are VERY easy it is easy and fun to use.

Saw this at a trade show and got two at half price. Each cup comes with spoon straw. Use it with a 54 oz about 1. Where can you pick one up or buy at? Lynn Roberts. The ice cubs are huge and its a lot of shaking for a tiny bit of slushy. I found it easier to put some juice or soda in a plastic soda bottle and put it in the freezer for a couple of hours.
I bought a blenderband find a thousand times easier to just blend ice and juice together. Not that impressed tho will definitely try the suggestions. Even tho they were posted like 2 years ago, I decided to comment. Just like when u make ice cream with the old fashion icecream maker u use ice and salt in the middle of it. This is great!!!!!!! I am 51 and the kid in me loves it as much as a young kid!!!!!!! I had to run outside and tell my dad about it and he was not sure what I was all about until it finally registered with him and maybe I will let him try it next time! I glue 2 slushy magics to either end of a shake weight. Now I can get my slush on after my workout. There are some really dumb ass people out there.
I bet they also iron their clothes whilst still wearing them, then act surprised when they burn themselves. I purchased the product and went to use it, not only did it not work except for the ice that formed directly on the cubes, but, the odor of the plastic cubes was horrible.
So terribly Dissapointed ….. I was skeptical, but thought if it worked the kids would like it. Happy kids. The slushy maker is OK. Instructions Place ice cubes and salt in a quart-sized Ziploc bag. Place juice in a sandwich-sized Ziploc bag, press out all the air and seal tightly. If it isn't sealed tightly enough, salt will get in and it won't taste good. Place the small bag of juice IN the larger bag of ice and seal. The larger bag will be holding the ice, salt, and the baggie of juice.
Shake for about minutes or until juice is slushified I made that word up. If it gets too cold, wrap a dish cloth around it or use gloves and continue shaking. Pour slush into a cup and serve immediately. Recipe Video.
